Ana Sofia Souto
Ana Sofia Souto holds a B.A. (Honors) in Portuguese and a M.A. in Language Sciences (specialization: Linguistics) from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, where she was top of her class and was therefore rewarded with the “Merit and Excellence Best B.A. Students Award” (2016) and the “Merit and Excellence Best M.A. Students Award” (2018). Additionally, she holds a Diploma of Advance Studies in Portuguese (Specialization in Literary Studies). Currently, she is a PhD student in the area of Text and Discourse Linguistics at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. Her main research interests include: Discourse Analysis, Critical Discourse Analysis, Language and Power, Political Language, and Argumentation Studies. Ana Sofia benefited from scholarships that allowed her to study in Italy (Rome and Perugia), Spain (Madrid), Germany (Berlin) and Austria (Payerbach and Alpbach); to augment her knowledge of several languages, literatures and cultures; and to enhance her curiosity about the world around her. She is a polyglot and a language lover. She has some experience working as a proofreader and a translator. She gives regular literature workshops at “Associação Cultural Almada Mundo”. She created the page "Leituras-Mundo": https://www.facebook.com/leiturasmundo/, in which she provides information related with literature. She also runs a private group dedicated to languages and linguistics on Facebook.
