I'm a DPhil. student at the University of Oxford. I'm interested in phonetics and sociolinguistics. My DPhil thesis examines dog-directed speech and focuses on the prosodic patterns of how people modulate their speech when speaking to their pets to show affection and other emotions. I'm looking at genders, cultures, and cross-linguistic comparisons.
