I am currently a PhD candidate in English Language Teaching Program, Language Studies Track at METU, Turkey. My research interests lie at the nexus of sociolinguistics, linguistic ethnography and critical discourse studies. I primarily focus on politics of linguistic identity; migration and language; gender, sexuality and language; new media discourses. I leaded the establishment of Discourse and Corpus Research Group (DISCORE) at METU and work as an active member and admin of the group. My latest paper titled "Discourses of Exclusion on Twitter in the Turkish Context: #ülkemdesuriyeliistemiyorum (#idontwantsyriansinmycountry) with Hale Isik-Guler is published in the Journal of Discourse, Context and Media.
