The aim of this group is to examine factual and/or fictional representations of natural disasters in verbal and visual sources – such as newspapers, social media, literary fiction, genre fiction, the graphic novels, comics, commercials, TV-shows, poetry, documentary, film, photography, painting, sculpture, installation art, music etc. and to create an interdisciplinary network from the different fields such as linguistics, semiotics, film and media studies, literature, philosophy, psychology, sociology, and any other relevant discipline. The primary audience of this group consists of scholars and graduate students working on disaster studies.
