Global Governance Fields Beyond Fragmentation and Complexity: Emergence, Effects and Discursive Underpinnings of Interorganizational Relations

This workshop aims to query the fixation on complexity and fragmentation in contemporary research on international organizations and global governance. It takes issue with the strangely determinist, yet largely unchallenged truism that global governance in the 21st century is inevitably racing towards an ever more disintegrated institutional landscape, where large international organizations are becoming invariably more multi-purpose while operating alongside specialized smaller programs and initiatives with similar or overlapping mandates.

This Master Class for research students explores the relevance of Hegemony and Socialist Strategy for analysing contemporary politics and society. Reminder: CfP "Materialist_Discourse_Analysis: Methodological entanglements."

In this workshop, we seek to explore how a decidedly materialist approach to discourse can be put into practice. Bringing together contributions from a range of disciplines, we will think through the methodological implications materialism has for Discourse Studies, and vice versa.

Between Fact and Fiction - Climate Change Literature

Novels and short stories that depict research on climate change and/or its ecological and social ramifications have been gaining in prominence.
