The research project “Polarization and Digital Discourses: Critical and Socio-Cognitive Perspectives” (PODDS) from University Autónoma of Madrid is organizing its second online seminar series, to be held between November 2023 and May 2024 via Google Meet.

We are excited to invite you to our next seminar of the Open DiscourseNet Seminar London, which will take place on Friday, 24 February 2023, 1-2pm (London time). We will hear Matthias Becker (Center for Research on Antisemitism at the Technical University Berlin) “Hate speech online: Reflections, Methods and Goals of the Decoding Antisemitism Project”.

A Zoom link will be sent out on the night before. 

Race, religion and royalty (3R) are relatively entrenched in Southeast Asia, often constituting the basis of legitimacy to governance. 3R legitimizes the dominance of particular groups in Southeast Asian countries and normalizes ethno-religious collective identities. Despite Western-based political systems, the region continues to present the preference for selected groups in socio-cultural milieus. It has not helped cohesion for its socio-demographic cleavages, namely ethnic, linguistic, regional or religious.

Members of DiscourseNet will share their experience and give you a first orientation about how to get your project going.
