Discuss the Future of DiscourseNet and Meet the Candidates

Dear friends of DiscourseNet,

As you may have read in one of our previous emails, and in accordance with our statutes, elections for the next Steering Group of DiscourseNet will take place this autumn. Along with the Steering Group, the DiscourseNet Board will also be renewed.

This is a valuable opportunity to reflect on the future of our association: how we can further support our members and users, strengthen our community, and continue improving our shared work in discourse studies.

It is also an excellent moment to become more actively involved in DiscourseNet — whether by organizing working groups, events, or publications within the DiscourseNet infrastructure, or by contributing to the Board and supporting the association in other important ways.

To discuss these and other questions, and to meet the candidates for the upcoming election, I warmly invite you to join our virtual meeting on Monday, 8 June, at 12:00 CEST via zoom:

During the meeting, you will also hear from members of the outgoing Board, who will share their experiences and provide insights into the work and structure of the association.

Founded in 2019, DiscourseNet is a community of researchers in Discourse Studies, broadly understood as the study of social practices of meaning-making through verbal and/or non-verbal communication.

More information about the election can be found here: https://discourseanalysis.net/election2026

I hope to see many of you in June.

Best,

Benno – President of DiscourseNet
