The Public Discourse Research Group at the Instituto Cultura y Sociedad (ICS), Universidad de Navarra, Spain, is organizing an international symposium titled "From the extremes to the centre and back again? Radicalisation, mainstreaming and reconciliation in local, national and global context" to be held from June 5-7, 2025.

We are honored to host distinguished keynote speakers:
Prof. Dr. Teun A. van Dijk (Centre of Discourse Studies, Barcelona)
Prof. Dr. Artur Lipiński (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań)
Prof. Dr. Umut Korkut (Glasgow Caledonian University)

The symposium aims to explore the dynamics of negotiating political, ideological, and social positions within national and global contexts, with a particular focus on processes of radicalization, mainstreaming, and reconciliation in discourse, politics, and social interactions.

We welcome submissions from scholars in Discourse Studies and Analysis, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Sociology, Communication Studies, Social Psychology and Linguistics.

The conference will be held in-person at the University of Navarra campus in Pamplona, Spain. For more information and submission details, please visit our conference website: https://www.unav.edu/web/instituto-cultura-y-sociedad/actividades/international-symposium
