I am an International Relations researcher affiliated with the Center for International Studies (CSI, Babes-Bolyai University) working at the interface between international law, discourse theory/analysis, and area studies (East Asia).

In my Dissertation (FU Berlin, 2015 Annual Prize Stiftung Überlebensrecht) I applied a modified Poststructuralist Discourse Analysis to international security policy debates, arguing for the rise of a new hegemonic discourse of international criminal justice at the UNSC between 2002 and 2010.

My latest research focuses on discursive contestations of international maritime law and security in the South China Sea as well as the visual construction of messages in mass protests (Romania, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong).
