Iris Jammernegg has been working since 2005 as Assistant Professor for German as a Foreign Language in the Courses of Cultural Mediation and  Public Relations at the University of Udine, teaching traditional face-to-face classes as well as courses in blended learning. She coordinates the related disciplinary area at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is a member of the editorial board of  “CONTATTI”, the University of Udine’s review for PR and related subjects. Furthermore, she coordinates the research group PRAGER which studies pragmatics of the renewables discourse going on in Germany and Italy.

Her research interests include linguistic as well as textual aspects of business and public communication in the German language with focus on knowledge transfer and competence building, languages for special purposes (political, journalistic, advertising, PR oriented language), multimedia supports for linguistic learning, independent and guided learning, intercultural issues, cross-linguistic CADS.

Actually she investigates strategies of consensus negotiation in intercultural settings, argumentative and textual strategies from a comparative point of view with translation outcomes and discourse strategies of inclusion or exclusion in the Austrian public space.
