Viola Wiegand

Viola Wiegand is a Lecturer (Teaching) at the University of Bath’s Department of Education and a Research Associate at the University of Birmingham, where she has been part of the CLiC Dickens project team since 2017. In her PhD thesis, she used corpus methods to study the meaning of the concept of surveillance in a range of discourse domains. Her research areas include corpus linguistics, stylistics, discourse analysis, and digital humanities. She is Assistant Editor of the International Journal of Corpus Linguistics and co-edited the volume Corpus Linguistics, Context and Culture (2019, De Gruyter) with Michaela Mahlberg.
