Roodabeh

Roodabeh Dehghani is a PhD candidate in the Sociology School at the University of Ottawa. Her research focuses on the discursive dimension of governance of sexuality in contemporary Iran. She is particularly interested in subjectification processes and the rationalities that shape them, drawing on Governmentality Studies and Sociology of Knowledge Approach to Discourse (SKAD) to analyze these dynamics. Beyond her doctoral work, Roodabeh has a keen interest in interdisciplinary approaches to social inquiry, particularly those that challenge mainstream academic trends. She is committed to producing knowledge that is both analytically rigorous and socially relevant. She has experience organizing academic workshops and engaging in theoretical discussions that bridge sociology with broader critical perspectives.
