Alexander Alekseev is a PhD researcher at the University of Helsinki. Mr. Alekseev earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at MGIMO – University (Moscow State Institute of International Relations) and his Master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action at Sciences Po (Institut d’études politiques de Paris). Before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, he did his PhD at the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia. His ongoing research is focused on the ideology and discourse of the European populist radical right parties, especially the concepts of democracy and rights as they are perceived, interpreted, and used by various populist radical right parties in different European contexts.
