With a turnout of 47% of all DiscourseNet members, and all 85 votes going to each of the three candidates.

Argumentation et analyse du discours est une revue électronique dont l’ambition est d’offrir un lieu d’échange aux chercheurs qui tentent aujourd’hui de réfléchir aux rapports qui s’établissent entre l’analyse du discours, l’argumentation et la rhétorique dans l’espace global des sciences du langage. Cette publication semestrielle, rédigée en langue française, émane du groupe de recherche Analyse du discours, argumentation, rhétorique (ADARR) du département de français de l’université de Tel-Aviv.

Dear all,

the last-minute application procedure for free places in our new international master programme "Religion in the Public Sphere" starts today and lasts until 10 October. The programme is offered in English by the Institute for the Study of Religion in cooperation with the Institute of Sociology in Hannover and will start in October. We offer a double degree track with our partner institutes at Università Roma Tre and Södertörns Högskola (Stockholm) in addition to the conventional home track.

Calling all active members of the DiscourseNet Association!

Dear All,

I’m writing today with some updates about the upcoming election. The (online) voting begins at the next DiscourseNet Assembly on 20 October 2021. Members can vote any time from 20 October 2021, 5pm CET until 27 October 2021, 5pm. Each active member of the DiscourseNet Association will receive a unique personal link to vote.

In addition to voting, this is the last call for candidates for President, Treasurer or Secretary: Deadline for expressions of interest: 30 September 2021.

Proposals are invited for a thematic panel on anti-Asian hate in digital discourses. It is organized by Massimiliano Demata (University of Turin) and Natalia Knoblock (Saginaw Valley State University). It will be held at the 3rd International Conference: Approaches to Digital Discourse Analysis (ADDA3), which will take place at the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg, FL, USA on May 13–15, 2022.

The research project “Decoding Antisemitism” at the Centre for Research on Antisemitism at TU Berlin and King’s College London investigates the extent and forms of antisemitic hate speech on websites in Great Britain, France and Germany. The focus is not on radicalised milieus, but on the communication on social platforms and media outlets within the political mainstream. In this respect, the project sees itself as an early warning system for broad societal shifts, and aims to sensitise political groups and civil societies to them.
