Symposium “Gender_Language_Politics”

The interdisciplinary and international symposium „Gender_Language_Politics” is the concluding event of the gender focus during the 2015 anniversary program (http://www.univie.ac.at/en/650/celebrating-with-us/gender-justice-focus). It will focus on discussing forms of making visible and hiding women in public space from the perspective of linguistics, media studies and political science.

La 17ª conferencia de DN ofrece un espacio para explorar múltiples maneras en que la reflexividad y la crítica pueden ser implementadas para moldear significativamente nuestro conocimiento sobre nosotros mismos, sobre nuestros discursos y sobre nuestras sociedades. Con este fin, esta conferencia espera atraer investigadores interesados en el papel que reflexividad y crítica: a) desempeñan en el estudio del discurso y, b) la función que ejercen en las realidades sociales que analizamos.

Linguistic Ethnography Discussions and Studies (LEDS)

The CLCR Linguistic Ethnography Research and Study Group (LEDS) held its inaugural meeting on 22nd October 2014. The group provides an informal, constructive forum for discussion about a wide range of matters related to linguistic ethnography including its interface with ethnography more generally and with (British) anthropology. We hope that, as the group develops, members will be willing to engage in methodological and theoretical discussion.

CDA20+ Symposium

The symposium aims to reflect on CDA and formulate new directions for critical discourse studies and analysis. It will facilitate discussions on establishing new ways of 'doing CDA' to account for and challenge social change, and strengthening its social relevance and the promotion of social justice.
