As traditional democratic procedures and institutions are coming under increasing pressure in a context marked by highly mediatized cultural, political and economic crises, the notion of democratic politics itself faces challenges from the left, the right and the radical centre. Metapolitical projects on different sides of the political spectrum are gaining support and attention. At stake is a potential restructuration the public sphere itself.

This one-day symposium explores general tendencies in populism and populist discourse across Europe as well as within a series of national settings.

La Asociación Latinoamericana de Estudios del Discurso (ALED), cuyos objetivos son promover el desarrollo científico de los estudios del discurso en América Latina, propiciar la circulación del saber para confrontar investigaciones en el área de discurso, promover el intercambio entre instituciones, intensificar y sistematizar la interdisciplinariedad, en conjunto con la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (CAC- UANL 245: “Lenguajes, discursos, semióticas. Estudios de la cultura en la región”); la Esc. Normal Superior Profr.

Objetivo general:

Ofrecer un panorama teórico y metodológico del análisis de los discursos visuales y audiovisuales en sociedades contemporáneas, teniendo en cuenta los procesos de convergencia mediática y aceleración social.

We willen onderzoekers uit Vlaanderen en Nederland samenbrengen met het oog op een verkenning van inhoudelijke en onderzoeksmatige raakvlakken die toekomstige samenwerkingsverbanden mogelijk maken.
