The Centre for Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick is pleased to announce its 17th
Postgraduate Conference on Tuesday, 24th and Wednesday, 25th June 2014. The postgraduate
conference covers a wide range of topics including language teaching, intercultural
communication, and academic or political discourse. The aim of the conference is to provide
postgraduate students with the opportunity to present their research, to attend experts’
keynote presentations, to meet peers who engage in similar research activities and to get

Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory (University of Belgrade, Serbia) organises the second international conference Why still education? The conference is conceived as an open scientific forum which seeks to contribute to reflection on and development of educational strategies, to provide a space for exchange of experience and knowledge, and to encourage fruitful challenges to the existing educational practices.

Dear Colleagues,
we kindly invite you to the 9th international conference on Discourse, Communication and the Enterprise. The conference aims to promote and foster interaction between those interested in discourse and communication in organisational settings, and follows a series of successful conferences (Lisbon 2001, Vigo 2003, Rio de Janeiro 2005, Nottingham 2007, Milan 2009, Hong Kong 2011, Beijing 2013 and Naples 2015).

In this multi-disciplinary conference we wish to think through the imbrications of violence, space, and the political. Given that our present conjuncture is one constituted by innumerable sites of apartheid, exclusion, oppression, and indeed, resistance(s), such an interrogation is both crucial and potentially productive in re-thinking questions of power and radical politics.

2nd Call for Papers

The aim of this interdisciplinary workshop is to explore the potential for collaboration between researchers in Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), Corpus Linguistics (CL) and Conceptual History (CH), the study of key socio-political concepts in their historical context.

The fourth international conference Critical Approaches to Discourse Analysis across Disciplines (CADAAD) will take place at the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal, 4-6 July 2012.

During the past few decades, the face of social, cultural and linguistic diversity in societies all over the world has changed radically, producing complexity of a different kind than what has traditionally been captured in the notion of multiculturalism. This ‘new’ diversity, or super-diversity (Vertovec 2007), encompasses a wide range of societal and cultural transformations that stem mainly from accelerated processes of geocultural and mediated globalization of the last two decades.

We welcome submissions to the First International Conference on Translation Studies which will be held on 8-9 May 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand. ICTS2014 aims to be a supportive space for those who wish to present their latest studies and research projects related to Asian languages and cultures. It further seeks to create a dynamic network of researchers working in Translation Studies. This interdisciplinary conference further welcomes researchers of related disciplines who focus their studies on Asian languages and cultures.
