Valeria Reggi
I am a certified English-Italian translator. I hold a PhD from the Centre for Translation (CenTraS) of University College London, a specialization in literary translation from the University of Venice and a degree with honours in Modern Languages from the University of Bologna. I currently collaborate with University College London, the University of Brescia and the University of Bologna. I am also a member of the editorial board of the Media Ecology journal New Explorations: Studies in Culture and Communication (University of Toronto) and of the Scientific Committee of an international research hub on storytelling and civic awareness (WeTell Alma Idea). I specialise in qualitative discourse analysis, with a focus on multimodality. My work, which includes articles of literary criticism, translations and works on discourse analysis, has been published with Peter Lang and in Quaderni di Semantica, Philology and Mediazioni. My contribution to a joint volume on populism with John Benjamins Publishing is forthcoming.
My research interests include multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis, political discourse, disinformation, stereotyping, nationalism, critical thinking.
