Dear members of DiscourseNet,
I am happy to let you know that my book, The Politics of Person Reference, is now out: https://benjamins.com/catalog/pbns.320.
I closely examine British, German, and French parliamentary debates, and show how the third person (‘some’, ‘one’, etc.) can be used to target both absent and present participants.
The book is of interest to researchers and graduate students who explore interpersonal pragmatics, political discourse, and contrastive discourse analysis.
Dear discourse researchers,
we would like to remind you that the Journal for Discourse Studies is interested in your submissions! You are welcome to submit your manuscripts at any time in German or English by sending them to zfd@phil.uni-augsburg.de. Many different formats are possible, including but not limited to long or short articles, essays, or discussions.
We would like to invite submission of extended abstracts for papers to be published in a special issue of Terminology.
The full text of the call can be found on https://www.benjamins.com/series/term/callforpapers.pdf
