Dear colleagues,
This is an invitation to participate in a conference we are organising at the University of Granada, Spain, on migration, freedom of movement and transnational discourses from all angles possible, yours too. The dates: 3-5 September 2025.
Here you can read more about the event:
The evolving landscape, especially shaped by the effects of Brexit, and populism, extremism, or the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, has significantly shifted perceptions of critical issues such as freedom of movement and, consequently, migration. Hatred on social media and violent behaviours are some of the alarming consequences of this new reality.
The University of Granada, alongside the Universities of Zaragoza, Perpignan, L'Orientale, and Parthenope in Naples, is actively participating in a project led by Prof. Pascual Pérez-Paredes from the University of Murcia, focused on the aforementioned initiative (FOM@Play, KA220-HED-236D1825).
In its essence, FOM@Play aims to be a key reference in understanding the profound impact of freedom of movement on EU citizens and the broader EU project. To achieve this, Europeans living in countries other than their own have been interviewed to share their experiences and perspectives on identity, among other topics.
In line with our commitment to advancing knowledge and facilitating a meaningful debate, from 2 to 5 September 2025, the teams involved in FOM@Play will present their findings, and look forward to engaging with other fellow scholars who share an interest in the project and its related themes, encouraging them contribute their own research on migration and freedom of movement from their own angles.
