Dear colleagues,

The Faculty of Humanities at Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen most politely invites you to participate with papers in the International Conference “Humanities - Challenges and Prospects” organized by the Faculty of Humanities to mark the 55th anniversary of Shumen University.

The conference will be held on October 29-31, 2026 in the Rectorate of Shumen University, Shumen, Bulgaria.

We look forward to your scientific research in the following thematic fields:

- Linguistics and Translation

- Intercultural Communication

- Modern Bulgarian Language

- History of the Bulgarian Language

- Ethnology and Folklore Studies

- History and Theory of Literature

- Media Discourse

- Theory and Methodology of Education in Humanities

- Ancient and Medieval History, Archaeology and Ethnography

- New and Recent History

- Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Theology

Important dates:

Applications are received by 31 March 2026 only electronically at https://forms.gle/gUEVyzeQx74d79GPA . There are no conference fees!

Confirmation of participation by 1 May 2026

Submission of papers for publication by 1 September 2026. The formatting requirements could be found here. 

The conference papers will undergo blind peer review and the approved ones will be published in the Annual of the Faculty of Humanities, referenced in CEEOL and included in the NACID reference list.
