Edited volume "Political Discourse in Central, Eastern and Balkan Europe" by Martina Berrocal and Aleksandra Salamurovic

Dear colleagues,

I would like to draw our edited volume "Political Discourse in Central, Eastern and Balkan Europe" (ed. by Martina Berrocal and Aleksandra Salamurovic) to your attention. This edited volume adresses language use of political discourse in various genres such as parliamentary debates, commemorative and presidential speeches, mediated communication, and literal and philosophical essays. We have focused on Slavic-speaking countries in Central (Czech Republic, Poland), Eastern (Russia) and Balkan Europe (Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegowina, and Northmacedonia). The authors of chapters address issues such as affiliation to different political and social groups within parliamentary settings, national identity, gender and minorities, as well as cultural memory and reconciliation. These insights, based on a comprehensive linguistic analysis, are beneficial also to other agents outside academia, such as NGOs or think tanks.

I hope you will find it interesting and useful for your own research!

Best regards, Aleksandra Salamurovic
